Jihan Jamal: Women of the Silk Veil Club
Jihan Jamal’s
Women Of the Silk Veil
Near, Middle Eastern and Asian Dance Arts Cultural and Book Club was founded in 2010 and registered in the State of Florida by #jihanjamal @jihanjamalraks_on .
The principal purpose of the club is to have a community platform to recognize the beauty of the dance culture community and to promote local dance and visual arts events, as well as recognizing teachers, choreographers and producers in the local community, and to provide a friendly, all encompassing and family oriented venue to celebrate our dance form and educate all who participate in our quarterly club meetings and annual celebrations. The gatherings also promote members of dance arts, movement fitness communities and diverse local entrepreneurs and participants who are also dancers and/or students and integral members of the community. We used to meet once monthly until the pandemic, and for the past 3 years, we have met annually at year-end celebrations filled with music, dance and food. It has also always been a platform for providing a public dance space for our students and aspiring professionals, to perform in public, in a supportive environment. In 2025, we are aiming to have more frequent meetings/gatherings with great guest speakers, poetry and book readings and great food and live music
